Barclays today announced it has appointed Richard Hilton as a Director and Head of Business Development for its employee benefits division. Richard will be responsible for the development of Barclays’ solutions in the employee benefits arena and will focus on taking its innovative approach to benefits and the best of Barclays to corporate clients.
Richard is based in London and reports to Paul Wilson, head of Employee Benefits Consulting at Barclays Corporate & Employer Solutions (C&ES).
As part of the rollout of its employee benefits proposition, earlier this year, Barclays C&ES announced the launch of a pension platform with Aegon and Zurich and Richard’s appointment follows the recent arrival of investment professionals Lydia Fearn and Jesal Mistry.
Richard brings almost 20 years’ financial services experience across a range of sales and business development roles and joins from Mercer where he has worked for the past four years as UK sales and marketing leader for its outsourced business.
Commenting on the appointment, Paul Wilson, Head of Employee Benefits Consulting at Barclays Corporate & Employer Solutions said: “We have a fresh and innovative approach to the employee benefits arena and Richard’s appointment is a crucial step in delivering an exceptional offering to our clients. At Barclays, we are relentless in our pursuit of the very best talent in the market and I am confident that Richard will play an important role for our clients as we launch our comprehensive and exciting benefits offering later this year.”
