UKís insurer sets new standard for talent management in financial sector: ETWeb implementation with capacity ultimately to cover 60,000 employees in more than 25 countries
StepStone, a provider of total talent management solutions, today announced that Aviva plc, the fifth largest insurance group in the world and the largest in the UK, has commenced with the implementation of StepStoneís ETWeb talent management platform, which once completed, will have capacity to cover 60,000 employees across more than 25 countries.
ETWeb will help Aviva build a transparent, up-to-date view of the capabilities and experience across the groupís every business unit globally. The StepStone solution will help it retain and develop its staff, improve the ratio of internal promotions to internal hires, and drive succession planning by finding succession options for senior level positions.
At the same time, ETWeb will help Aviva put its employees in the driving seat of their own careers. Harnessing ETWebís self-service features, staff will be able to feed back to line managers and HR professionals on their skills and career objectives, whilst gaining accurate, up-to-date information on the progress they make against development objectives.
Following a pilot phase, Aviva will commence the first stage of the implementation, to be completed in Q1 2008, which will give the group a view of 1,300 senior management staff, from country chief executives to heads of departments. Over the next year Aviva plans to roll this out to the next management tier to incorporate a total of 7,000 employees.
Finding and developing the best talent is at the heart of our business and we are committed to ensuring we continually challenge, reward and develop people who want to build an international career,î commented Arvinder Dhesi, Group Talent Management Director of Aviva. ìThe key to our success as an international insurer is having the right leaders in the right place at the right time -. Stepstoneís technology will play an important part in helping us achieve our global ambitions.î
Matthew Parker, Group Managing Director of StepStoneís Solutions business, added: ìTalent management programmes work best when global organisations break down silos and demonstrate how talented employees can fulfil their ambitions in different business units, even different countries. Helping multinational organisations achieve this degree of visibility into their employeesí capabilities and goals is exactly what ETWeb was created to do, and weíre looking forward to working with Aviva to make its talent management vision a reality.î
Following a rigorous selection process over the past year, Aviva selected StepStoneís ETWeb as its talent management solution on the basis of its ability to manage and automate all elements of the recruitment process and support 14 different languages. StepStoneís solutions already aid many financial companies across the sector to effectively attract and retain talent within an extremely competitive industry.
