Gradcracker, the careers website for engineering students, attended an invitation-only exhibition at the Dynamic Earth Centre, Edinburgh on Friday 15th May to mark the end of the Edinburgh Napier Universityís International Project Week.

Hosted by the University and organised by Dr Ian Smith, Head of Civil and Transportation Engineering, International Project Week saw 250 civil engineering students from across Europe come together for a programme of activities.

Balfour Beatty, Jacobs Engineering, Transport Scotland and FETA joined Gradcracker to support this event aimed at making European students aware of the engineering opportunities in the UK and to meet staff and students from Universities in Denmark, France, The Netherlands, Latvia, Germany and Spain.

Dr Smith said, ìEdinburgh Napier University has formed a network linking several European universities' Civil Engineering departments, the purpose of which is to provide students with an awareness of civil engineering beyond their home nation and an international component to their civil engineering studies. Never before has Edinburgh played host to such a large gathering of civil engineering students from all across Europe and the programme was only made possible by the commitment of the key stakeholders from within the civil engineering industry who supported us at the event.î

Gradrackerís University Liaison Manager, Angela Lockhart, had this to say about the event: ìWe welcomed the opportunity to support the International Project Week. Gradcracker is a UK-based careers site but we are keen to raise our profile across the EU as many of our employers are international companies, keen to recruit talented engineering students to work both here in the UK and globally.ì
