Power and Waste Management recruitment specialist Astute Technical Recruitment
has been awarded membership of the prestigious professional trade body APSCo –
the Association of Professional Staffing Companies.
Astute, based in Portsmouth, is a leading
provider of staff to the power generation, waste management and utilities sectors and has established a specific
expertise in providing a full “Crewing-up” service for new power plant
projects.
APSCo is the professional body representing
the interests of recruitment organisations engaged in the provision of business
professionals to clients. To gain
membership of APSCo, Astute had to provide detailed financial information, have
independent references provided by clients and candidates, and demonstrate that
it adheres to a strict code of practice.
Terry Buckel, Managing Director of Astute
Technical Recruitment said “We decided to join APSCo as membership provides us
with business information, research and representation within the specialist
professional recruitment sector.
We are already members of the REC and will maintain that membership, but
APSCo provides us with specific coverage of the professional contracting and
recruitment market, and gives an additional independent verification of the
quality of service provided by Astute.”
Ann Swain, CEO of APSCo, said: “We are
delighted to welcome Astute to APSCo, the references we received from their
clients and candidates show they provide a high quality of service. They will
add value to an increasing group of members within the booming renewable energy
sector and we look forward to working with them in the future.”
Membership of APSCo comes at the end of an
excellent year for Astute which has seen a record number of placements and an
increase in recruitment staff numbers.
