Adecco, the UKís largest recruiter, has been recognised as one of the top employers in the UK according to a survey by The Corporate Research Foundation, which has been published by Guardian Books. Companies were judged across a number of categories including pay and benefits, promotion and development and company culture for inclusion in the prestigious list.
Corporate Research Foundation produced a list of leading UK companies that was put forward to an expert panel including HR practitioners, academics and journalists. The panel examined HR management practices to find the organisation that strives to accommodate work/life balance for their employees and recognises the importance of HR to the workforce.
The survey credited Adecco for its constant ambition to provide staff with the flexibility and incentives to tailor their employment to personal requirements and to develop to their full potential. Adecco has introduced flexible working guidelines, family friendly policies and has made attempts to break down the traditional age discrimination found in general employment. With the increasing drive towards ëwork/life balanceí, Adecco is leading the way in the recruitment sector and setting industry standards.
Richard MacMillan, MD of Adecco UK and Ireland, comments, ìAs the UKís leading recruiter we have led on a number of initiatives all designed to attract the best people to recruitment as a career and to ensure that our staff are highly motivated and focused. To be recognised in this way is a great achievement for the UK organisation.î
At the end of 2004, Adecco launched its Commitments Programme for colleagues, a innovative service level agreement to ensure staff get the best training and career development. Adecco is also the first recruitment company to introduce internal TV communications to ensure everyone across the vast branch network remains part of the Adecco ethos.
Richard MacMillan continued, ìAs a company offering its clients expertise in the HR arena, it is vital that we lead by example and demonstrate how it can be done. Recruitment is a very dynamic and exciting industry so it is important that our HR policies are geared to attracting and retaining the brightest talent.î
