Listening to your customers is one thing, but reorganising your business to suit them is a braver step indeed. 4mat.com, provider of independent recruitment websites in the UK, has scrapped account manager and project manager roles in favour of a new multi-skilled client manager function.
4mat.com managing director Giles Guest explained: ë A mismatch of sales people and project managers, each with different agendas and neither totally client focused is often a barrier because each are coming at web design from a different perspectiveí.
As well as sales people being able to see a project through to completion, 4mat.comís new approach also means that developers are happier and do a better job. Rather than simply implementing someone elseís project they are now involved from the outset and share ownership through to completion.
