460,000 for employers with The Edge

Today sees the launch of a nationwide search for employers who provide the very best practical training for young people.

New practical learning charity, Edge, will reward 460,000 in cash prizes to employers across the nation who can demonstrate how they offer excellent work-related learning opportunities for 14-25 year olds.

The Edge Employer Awards are open to all employers in England, large and small, public, private and voluntary. A condition of entry is that the prize winnings must be reinvested back into work-related learning for 14-25 year olds, such as apprenticeships or work placements.

Garry Hawkes, Edge Chair, calls for companies to enter the awards, saying:

ìMany excellent employers believe in providing great work experience and training for young people and we intend to reward the very best. Edge is dedicated to championing practical learning and no matter what size your organisation, no matter what sector, we want to hear how you encourage and support younger people to learn in practical, hands-on ways.î
