Niche job board network 247recruit have announced that they will be sponsoring a gap year event called Year Out Expo alongside the 2012 Active Travel Show at ExCeL London. The event is dedicated to highlighting the benefits of taking a gap year or career break and exhibitors will include organisers of overseas volunteer placements, training courses and vocational internships.
247recruit will be organising daily talks from travel industry employers who recruit seasonal staff to work abroad for durations of 2-6 months during winter or summer seasons. They will also give event visitors the chance to browse jobs and register for free vacancy updates on their specialist ResortWork.co.uk and YearOutWork.co.uk job sites.
The Active Travel Show takes place alongside The Outdoors Show, The London Bike Show and The Tullet Prebon London Boat Show from 12th-15th January next year. Active Travel Show organisers VOS Media will be promoting the show through their media partners at The Independent, The Metro and The London Evening Standard. Tickets to the event will include admission to all 3 co-located events for no extra charge to give visitors a great day out at Britain's largest active leisure and travel event.
Commenting on the trade launch of the event, 247recruit Managing Director Andrew Bird said: We see this as a unique opportunity to showcase the benefits of working a season abroad during a gap year or career break. Gap years are no longer the exclusive preserve of pre-university students and the economic downturn has broadened the range of people who now consider taking some time out from their traditional career path. The skills and experience gained from seasonal employment can enhance CVs and offer real personal development in a unique working environment.
