18,000 Junior Doctors successfully complete applications through Hicom Technology's I:CAMS Solution

.

Healthcare IT solutions and services specialists, Hicom Technology, today announces the successful completion of the registration and application stages of the regional doctorsí appointment process through I:CAMS – its fully-hosted online recruitment and applicant tracking system.

I:CAMS which is currently deployed across 11 of the 13 recruiting UK Deaneries, provides the sector with the ability to develop individual application forms on top of a robust underlying infrastructure that offers greater visibility and access to information throughout the application process. Its modular format allows individual Deaneries to tailor the application form to their specific requirements and quickly identify the suitability of each applicant to the specific posts.

As Mark Hinchcliffe, Business Development Manager Hicom Technology explains, ìEvery year over 40,000 candidates apply for positions throughout the UK and in-line with MMC recommendations these applications are now processed online in the majority of cases. To-date Deaneries have relied heavily on paper-based processes to fill the vacancies within their area but this has left them with a huge administrative task. I:CAMS simplifies this process and offers them significant cost and time savings without opening them to the additional risks associated with an online system.î

I:CAMS is a specialist application for the healthcare recruitment market which has been specifically designed to reduce duplication and administration, and to improve the speed of the process. The system is user-friendly and flexible allowing for reduced paperwork and improved efficiency. This gives key recruitment staff within the NHS more time to concentrate on the development of doctor training programmes rather than the administrative tasks associated with the application process.

In addition to the clear benefits offered to the Deaneries I:CAMS provides significant benefits for candidates. Hinchcliffe elaborates, ìThrough I:CAMS Deaneries are able to offer a much improved candidate experience; the process is managed much more effectively, there is less duplication involved in applying for multiple jobs, the status of each application is clearly visible and it is easy to access each application on an on-going basis, whether to simply view the application or update details within it, from beginning the application right through to receiving an offer.î

Following the success of the initial stages of the regional appointment process through I:CAMS, Hicom Technology will be a supplier for the wider adoption of online specialty recruitment in 2010. Commenting on this decision John Sanderson, Director, Hicom Technology, comments, ìAt Hicom we are committed to understanding the needs of the healthcare sector and we believe that there is huge potential for a regionally-focused recruitment system based to revolutionise medical recruitment in the UK. We have extensive experience in meeting the recruitment needs of the healthcare industry at all levels and in providing IT solutions that facilitate their specific aims.î

Sanderson concludes, ìThe successful delivery of I:CAMS to date and the subsequent selection to supply the system on a wider scale is further testament to Hicomís ever-growing presence in the market. We look forward to continuing to develop our solutions in line with NHS needs.î
