Leisurejobs Continues to Strengthen Management Team

Simon
Kar has been appointed as online director for Leisurejobs- overseeing the
online teams for both Leisurejobs.com and Barzone.com, Leisurejobs is currently
seeing record sales growth month on month and is making strides in the broader
Leisure sector, its unique hybrid recruitment approach is finding favour
amongst many of Leisure’s leading brands. 


Simon will be responsible for the online
recruitment team and will work closely with them to drive the business and
brand forward.  At the same time he will be exploring new
opportunities within the Leisurejobs Exec, Temp and Promo Teams within the
wider Leisure marketplace.  In the first instance, Simon will
be promoting the re-launch of the Barzone job-board to new and
existing customers.


Upon graduating from Lancaster University, with
a BA (hons) degree in English, in 1993, Simon began his career gaining valuable
recruitment advertising experience as a sales executive with The Independent
newspaper.  This was followed by a
five-year spell with IIR, the world's largest conference company, where he was
the annual global top exhibition sales person on more than one occasion.


In early 2000, Simon was appointed as
Business Development Director at BGI, a recruitment company
specialising in permanent and temporary staffing in the Telecoms,
Construction and Healthcare industries.  He was responsible for winning
new business and managing ongoing customer relationships within the Telecoms
and Construction Divisions.  During his time there he made many
significant high volume contract wins with blue chip customers such as
Ericsson, Siemens, Bovis Lend Lease, and Balfour Beatty.  He also ran the
Dallas office between 2001 and 2002.  In 2003, he was named in the Who's
Who of Britain's Young Business Elite.


Following the sale of BGI in
October 2006, Simon took up the position of Sales Director with the new
parent company and continued to focus mainly on international
business development.
