Alexander Mann Solutions hires Global Head of Sourcing

Strategic hire places sourcing at the heart of AMS’s resourcing services

Alexander Mann Solutions, the provider of world-class talent and resourcing capability, has today announced that it has hired Adam Lawrence as its Global Head of Sourcing. Adam’s appointment is a key hire for AMS and is central to the company’s commitment to push the boundaries of innovation to exploit sourcing intelligence, data, specialist skills and technology in order to identify and engage with key talent.

Adam brings to the role over 20 years of progressive experience in building teams to attract and retain professionals with the management, strategy and emerging technology skills that are fundamental to business growth.

Adam joins AMS from SAP, where he held the position of Global Head of Sourcing and was responsible for building and deploying a scalable, global sourcing function which leveraged a variety of sourcing channels, including social media and third party technology to interact with talent. Prior to that he was Vice-President of Service Delivery at Yoh Talent Solutions and has held further positions in the recruitment and recruitment process outsourcing space.

In this new role at AMS, Adam will use his experience from across a diverse client base to help brands embrace innovation by putting effective sourcing at the heart of their resourcing strategies.

On his appointment, Adam comments: “Sourcing is a science which draws on a range of technology and resources to get to the right candidate, but it’s the art of execution that really makes the difference. It’s not just about how you find that person though but how you can get to them with a compelling message that will make them want to move from their current role. I believe that Alexander Mann Solutions has the knowledge, people and global footprint to become market leaders in sourcing excellence and I’m excited at the prospect of taking their vision and making it an operational reality for AMS customers.”

Jerry Collier, Director, Alexander Mann Solutions said: “Adam is an important strategic hire for us. He is one of only a handful of people in the world who has the knowledge and experience to do what he does and we’re thrilled that he has chosen to join AMS. Sourcing is becoming a key differentiator for businesses who are competing for top talent and, adding to the recent launch of our global sourcing service, source cloud, Adam is an important hire for positioning AMS as industry-leaders in this space.

“In addition, Adam will play a key role in redefining the current AMS strategy for sourcing candidates, with a core focus on educating clients on the changing face of candidates, the importance of capturing passive candidates and the impact of social media. Adam’s experience and expertise will be central to this and we are delighted to welcome him on board.”

This work will tie-in with recent AMS research* which found that companies must give candidates a consistent brand experience, to attract key talent and ensure they don’t put off potential customers by failing them in the recruitment process.  The research cemented the notion that the resourcing landscape is transforming, with over 80 per cent of candidates saying they would be open to and even welcome potential employers looking at their social networking profiles as part of the application process.
