Neotel selects iTalent at their online recruitment partner

Neotel announced the decision to implement the iTalent online recruitment technology solutions to run the Neotel Careers pages

Neotel, South Africaís second national operator, today announced the decision to implement the iTalent online recruitment technology solutions to run the Neotel Careers pages and provide Neotel with a system for online Job Profiling, Job Advertising, Candidate Filtering and Screening, Response Handling and Talent Pool management.

The launch of South Africaís second national operator, Neotel, in September 2006 created an abundance of new job opportunities in the telecommunications sector. With this wealth of job openings, came a flood of job applications via the Neotel website through which applicants had the opportunity to submit their CVís to Neotel for employment consideration.

According to Ilze Porter, Head of Human Resources at Neotel, the Neotel website was receiving over 5 000 new CVís per day. As a result there was a definite need for Neotel to invest in a recruitment technology that could assist in the collection, management and storage of these applications.

Having previously used iTalent to manage the recruitment and selection process at a former employer, Porter said that ìthe decision to implement iTalent was based on the success I had using the iTalent Systems in the past and the fact that iTalent could provide a solution to meet our current needsî.

iTalent is a division of CareerJunction, South Africaís leading online recruitment solution. In 2006 CareerJunction launched iTalent as a separate business unit to CareerJunction with the objective of providing online recruitment technology solutions to corporate clients. In addition to the recruitment technology solutions, iTalent can provide corporate clients with the facility to advertise vacancies on the CareerJunction and CareerJunction Network of Partner sites and, in so doing, substantially increase the reach and therefore exposure of client Job Ads.

Neotelís needs are however, slightly different to most other corporations and Neotel, although having made the decision to implement iTalent technology, have chosen to advertise Job Ads on their Website only. This decision, according to Porter, was driven by the fact that Neotel are already receiving so many applications via their own website.

ìHaving such a high volume of emailed CVs being sent into the career section of the Neotel website meant that it was an almost impossible task to respond to each and every potential candidate, however with iTalent this will be very easy to do with their multiple response handling tools,î said Porter.

ìNeotel have chosen iTalent to assist them with streamlining their entire recruitment process from Job Profiling and the advertising of vacancies on their website, to receiving Resumes, filtering and screening candidates and creating their own talent pool of candidates for future consideration,î says Paul Byrne, Business Unit Manager of iTalent.

Neotelís decision to outsource the provision of an online recruitment technology solution, is another advantage for the National Operator, adds Byrne, emphasising that this ensures the costs and time associated with developing and maintaining the solution are handled by iTalent rather than by Neotel themselves. ìThis is particularly important as Neotel prepare for their commercial launch later this yearî points out Byrne.

Another advantage of outsourcing the recruitment solution is that iTalent runs via the Internet and therefore the impact of the iTalent implementation on Neotel IT infrastructure is limited.

The iTalent technology is available via the Neotel website from 23 January 2007.
