ìHe has consistently participated in representations to the NSW Government in areas of Workplace Relations, Occupational Health and Safety and Workersí Compensations reviews, reforms and legislative changes,î she said.
Mr Plummer was an RCSA NSW/ACT Councillor since1996 and held the position of Treasurer for that Region since joining the Council. In 2000 he took on the role of Labour Hire representative for the RCSA to the NSW government inquiry into Labour Hire.
At an international level, he represented RCSA interests to equivalent Associations in the UK and the United States and established strong links for the RCSA to access.
At a Federal level, Mr Plummer worked with the Associationís Issues Team to effectively lobby DEWR, DIMA and the ATO in a range of areas that impact the industry, including:
Job placement
Working holiday visas
Industry Definitions
Independent Contractors and
APSI Legislation
He has also actively been involved in the review of the RCSA Code for Professional Practice, the Constitution, By Laws, Accredited Membership program as well as RCSA Forums, Conferences and Symposia in Australia and New Zealand.
ìThe RCSA recognises individuals who have contributed to the industry and the Association and John has been acknowledged for influencing the level at which the RCSA is now viewed by legislators, politicians and the general public,î Ms Mills said.
ìJohnís broad knowledge, forthright comments and future predictions have all been greatly appreciated by the Association and the industry as a whole,î she said.
Despite his retirement from the RCSA Board, Mr Plummer will continue in his role as Executive Director of the Chandler Macleod and Director of RecruitmentSuper.
