Sheffield Hallam University was this week named as Employer of the Year in the first Times Higher Educational Supplement awards.
The University was recognised for the ìfar-reaching impact and boldness of visionî of its Leadership Development Programme at the first ever THES awards, which was judged by leading figures in education, industry, government and the voluntary sector.
The award was presented at a ceremony at the Dorchester, attended by representatives from Universities from all over the country. These are the first awards of this kind within higher education and more that 1000 entries were received across the categories.
Judges including representatives of the Joint Negotiating Committee for Higher Education Staff, ACAS and the University and Colleges Employersí Association, were impressed by the Leadership Development Programme which has developed 150 people in leadership roles across the University.
