Last month we continued this campaign by suggesting to CEOs and CFOs that it would make good business sense to allocate some of their HR budget for 2005/6 to retention.

We are pleased to advise that a new report, released by our advertising and communications partner, TMP Worldwide, independently published last week, has come to very similar conclusions.

Its major finding is that while most companies consider employee retention Very Important they found that companies surveyed were prepared to spend significantly on recruitment firms and advertising but far, far less on retention.

In their words, companies have -

Money to burn to keep the front door openÖ.No money to shut the back door.

Itís a crazy but valid corollary.
