Lawyers acting for leading executive jobsite, exec-appointments.com, have reached an out-of-court settlement with rival site Executivesontheweb over alleged breach of copyright in on-screen content.
exec-appointments.com alleged that Executives on the Web Ltd had copied content from the exec-appointments.com jobsite and invited them to remove the material copied. Executivesontheweb denied reproducing any content from the exec-appointments.com site.
Law firm Taylor Wessing, who specialise in advising on online liability issues, were notified by exec-appointments.com that its terms and conditions had been copied almost word for word within Executivesonthewebís online executive club site.
Taylor Wessing, who drafted the terms and conditions for exec-appointments.com in 2003, threatened legal action for copyright infringement unless Executivesontheweb removed the terms from their website.
