U.S. Cellular selects Talentologys Peoplefilter Applicant Hiring Solution

All call centers to utilize electronic recruiting system

Rolling Meadows, Ill. - Talentology, LLC, a next generation provider of applicant hiring optimization solutions, announces that U.S.Cellular has selected Talentologyís PeopleFilter recruiting and evaluation technology to meet U.S. Cellularís hiring needs in all of their strategically located call centers. U.S.Cellular, a leading wireless service provider, will use PeopleFilter to assist them in the hiring of customer service representatives.

U.S. Cellular first selected PeopleFilter to address the volume hiring requirements associated with the opening of a new call center in Bolingbrook, Illinois in early 2005. The company needed to hire some 400 high-quality customer service representatives in a very short period of time. The project, a multi-step sequence coordinated by Talentology, has exceeded all U.S. Cellular goals including number of interviews, number of hires, time-to-fill and cost-per-hire. Based on this success, U.S. Cellular has decided to roll out the PeopleFilter solution to all six call centers.

ìWe wanted to maximize the effectiveness of our hiring efforts and ensure we got qualified candidates to hiring managers quickly,î said Manny Torres, senior director of enterprise talent acquisition at U.S. Cellular. ìPeopleFilter is helping us to manage effectively our staffing levels in all of our call centers. PeopleFilter technology enables us to create a strong pipeline of qualified candidates for each location by screening candidates, matching them to job profiles and managing the entire assessment process. We are very excited about the power, flexibility and functionality that PeopleFilter brings to our recruiting process. Additionally, the PeopleFilter team became an extension of our own team by becoming knowledgeable about what we are trying to accomplish.î

The hiring process starts with PeopleFilterís skills and competency assessment. All applicants, regardless of source, are statistically measured and scored against a carefully created profile of the ideal candidate. Upon passing the PeopleFilter assessment, applicants are invited to complete two additional key assessments before participating in a one-on-one interview.

The first of the two additional integrated technologies is the Customer Service Fit Index from The DeGarmo Group, based in Bloomington, IL. (www.degarmogroup.com). The DeGarmo Group offers behavioral-based employment tests for numerous industries, and developed a customized employment test tailored specifically to meet the needs of a call center environment for U.S. Cellular. The second is from Employment Technologies Corporation, (ETC) based in Winter Park, Fl. (www.etc-easy.com). Employment Technologies is a leader in pre-employment simulation technology for call centers, as well as many other industries. ETCís simulation technology lets applicants ìtest driveî the job and prove that they can perform the job successfully.

All assessment results are coordinated, summarized and presented by PeopleFilter for managementís review. To assure ìfit,î all successful applicants participate in a face-to-face interview with a member of the call center coaching staff. The process allows U.S. Cellular to effectively rank candidates and therefore create a continual pipeline of the most qualified as measured against the profile and assessments.

ìWe are pleased to have been selected by U.S. Cellular,î said Frank Pirri, president and chief executive officer of Talentology. ìOur clients are realizing the bottom line benefits that automating the hiring process can provide. Using PeopleFilter, they are meeting the challenges of hiring the right candidate for the right job while maintaining the flexibility necessary to their unique hiring practices.î
