Leading trade association gets members through the red tape into the Public Sector Marketplace

at no extra cost...

The UK Trades Confederation (UKTC), has formed an alliance with Exor Management Services, a Government approved accreditation body, to allow its members to bid competitively within the Public Sector marketplace worth 140bn a year in supplier contracts. Exor Management Services has committed to accredit all UKTC members at bronze level entry at no cost as part of its íSmall Business Friendlyí staircase.

SMEs will automatically qualify for bronze level entry into the Public Sector market at no extra cost through a new membership package provided by the UKTC in conjunction with Exor Management Services. This new initiative has been achieved through The UKTC aligning their membership vetting procedure to meet the exact criteria required by Exor Management Services for the first level of accreditation.

Marc Wood, Managing Director of Exor Management Services enthuses:

Accrediting members of the UKTC to bronze level entry contributes enormously to our campaign that encourages SMEs to embrace the Public Sector Marketplace. It also increases the number of small and regional businesses for Local Authorities to engage into supplier contracts. Utilising an already stringent vetting procedure to incorporate the accreditation criteria is a perfect solution in cutting out the daunting paperwork and cost to the SME as it kills two birds with one stone.

The accredited SMEs will be able to embrace the Public Sector marketplace by gaining visibility on Local Authority preferred suppliers lists and having the opportunity to quote for contracts. In addition UKTC will provide SMEs with a free website and email facilities as part of their membership package to enable them to communicate electronically with Local Authorities as part of the Governmentís 2005 e-procurement initiative.
