The UK’s largest undergraduate employability event takes place on Tuesday 22 April at Wembley Stadium. It’s called How to get hired. Live and is brought to you by TARGETjobs and Bright Futures.

600 undergraduates from different degree courses and different universities will join 100 graduate recruiters for a day of inspirational presentations, group discussion and networking. It will be fronted by the BBC Radio One presenter Aled Haydn Jones who will introduce the main themes, inspire the debate and guide the speakers as they share a wealth of jobseeking advice that simply is not available to students anywhere else. There hasn’t been anything quite like How to get hired. Live – a multimedia experience which aims to increase participants’ employability by giving them access to unique insights from inspirational people.

How to get hired. Live is partnered by some of the best-known names in graduate recruitment – Rolls-Royce, KPMG, Centrica and Barclays - with the Higher Education Academy representing UK universities. In addition, the 600 student participants will meet with around 100 recruiters of all sizes and from all industries who will pass on valuable hints and tips about how to get hired.

Daniel Perkins, Global Employer Brand Manager at Rolls-Royce said: “Rolls-Royce recognises the importance of inspiring and attracting the next generation of talented engineers and business professionals and are proud to be a sponsor of the first How to get hired. Live. Today's competitive graduate recruitment market means it takes more than academic achievements to succeed and we look forward to helping students understand what we look for in order to enhance their employability.

Simon Rogers, Director of TARGETjobs, said: “How to get hired. Live makes employability real to a large number of students in a lively, accessible and stimulating way. It’s a million miles away from a conference or a campus careers presentation and uses modern media techniques to give participants knowledge and unique insights that make them more employable.”

Simon Reichwald, Director, Bright Futures said: “How to get hired. Live is a must-attend event for students, employers and universities. It complements the great work carried out by our Bright Futures Societies in 55 universities, empowering students to take control of, and have a real say in, their future career.”
