HR apprentice, Yudip Tumrok has been chosen as an ambassador for the British Army’s apprenticeship programme, to help highlight the fact that the Army runs the largest employer apprenticeship scheme in the UK, providing career enhancing qualifications to the next generation of HR specialists. The announcement comes as research has shown that three in five people are not aware of the HR roles available with the Army

With the publication today of a new government report on helping older workers remain in employment, a leading academic has warned that there is still much to be done to get businesses onboard with an ageing workforce. Dr Matt Flynn, Director of the Centre for Research into the Older Workforce at Newcastle University, has welcomed Dr Altmann’s report but says that the government needs to go further to end age discrimination and recognise the economic contribution older workers make

More than half (52%) of UK companies have increased the number of female IT professionals they employ over the past five years, according to new research1 from specialist IT recruiter Robert Half Technology. UK Chief Information Officers (CIOs) say the growth in employment of women in technology is being largely driven by mentoring programmes (cited by 34%), greater enrolment in technology education (28%) and government initiatives (17%)
