As the year draws to a close, XpertHR data again records the subdued nature of pay awards for employees

As 2015 draws to a close, HR professionals are starting to plan for the year ahead. Recent pan-European research from ADP® has identified five key trends that are going to impact the rapidly changing world of work in 2016.

The upward momentum of chief executive pay and reward in the UK’s largest organisations has reached a crisis point. It does not clearly correlate to personal performance or business outcomes and this is having a significant impact on the motivation levels of the wider workforce, according to new research from the CIPD, the professional body for HR and people development.

In over half (55%) of UK organisations, HR is now an essential part of the development and delivery of the overall business strategy. This is according to research1 from NGA Human Resources, the HR and payroll expert.

According to the Office for National Statistics (ONS), employment levels increased by 207,000 in the three months to October, representing an employment rate of 73.9% with 31.3 million people in work.
