The Equality Act of 2010 legislates against pregnancy or maternity discrimination in the workplace, which means if an employee believes that an employer has treated them unfairly due to being pregnant, or having given birth, they can take legal action against a company at an employment tribunal.

Employers’ confidence in the UK economy has dropped to the joint-lowest level since mid-2016, according to new data from the Recruitment & Employment Confederation (REC). At net: -31, this is only the second time that confidence in the economy has dropped to this level since REC records began in 2016.
