The Increase in Online Recruitment – Is your website working for you?

As the recruitment industry starts to see the fog of recession lift, more companies are turning to online recruitment to stay ahead in these competitive times.

Recruiting online allows companies to appoint more candidates while spending less time on administration.

It is probably safe to say that no-one joined the recruitment industry for their love of administration work, so anything which can reduce the time spent at the fax machine has to be a good thing!

But just how hard is it to change your ëBusiness Cardí website into a fully functioning recruitment tool with job boards, online registration and automated time sheet collection?

Actually, itís not that hard.

Previously, such websites could cost upwards of 20,000 and take so long to produce that they were out of date by the time they went live.

Now, the whole thing can be created for as little as 3,000 and be up and running in around six weeks.

There is also no need to create a new website, as the recruitment tools, such as online timesheets, can be slotted into your existing site in a matter of minutes, starting from as little as 200.

The real beauty of online recruitment is the possibility to link your site to job boards such as Broadbean and Adapt which will automatically retrieve and post jobs for you. This means you can keep clients and candidates on your site rather than have them enquiring elsewhere.

Online recruitment doesnít take away the need for the personal touch as the best relationships with clients and candidates will always be forged through one to one contact.

But at least you wonít have to worry about getting the right candidates and clients on board if you have a fully functioning dynamic website at your disposal.

Monster Recruitment Statistics 2009

Milgram Report states there was a 55.47% increase in the number of resumes posted in January 2009, compared to the number posted in December 2008.

The majority of employers believe that making better use of online recruitment is the best way to save money when attracting new recruits, according to a study by Personnel Today's sister publication Employment Review.

A survey of 133 employers, with a combined workforce of just over one million employees, found that more than three-quarters (78%) were convinced that making changes to the use of general job boards was the most effective way of achieving savings when attracting new candidates.
