Syntax is planning a major expansion programme ñ just two years after completing a Management Buy In by four of its directors.
The first phase sees the company recruiting another five consultants across the board to join the existing 21-strong contract and permanent IT and engineering teams.
Syntax Managing Director Roger Frost explained: ìThe MBI in 2005 marked an exciting point in Syntaxís history ñ bringing a wealth of new blood and talent onto the Board.
ìSince then, we have steadily grown the contract and permanent IT recruitment side of the business and expanded into engineering and technical recruitment.
ìThe feedback from clients is that they are in buoyant mood and we are seeing a marked increased in their recruitment plans both for the short and medium terms.
ìThe time is therefore right to substantially expand the team both in the short term and we have earmarked on-going growth in the long term.
ìWe are recruiting people with a range of experience and continuing our own training programmes through the Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC) of which we are a founder member.
ìSkilled IT personnel are required across the board in the high tech, creative and service industries throughout the region and it is heartening that we are able to fill these vacancies with local people ñ reversing the ëbrain drainí that we saw a few years ago with skilled local people having to look outside the region for the best jobs.
ìThey now recognise that we have good jobs on the doorstep so they can live here and work closer to home which is good news for the local economy.
ìA significant increase in our business is also through public sector IT recruitment which we service through our innovative Syntax Direct service - enabling them to log their vacancies onto a special site which is open to any candidate and therefore satisfies their equity and diversity requirements.
ìWe are also making major inroads into the contract and permanent engineering markets and, again, feedback from clients is that they are forging ahead with their own recruitment plans and there is a significant increase in the demand for skilled people to grow their own businesses.
ìOur research into both the IT and engineering markets shows that this is not a flash in the pan and growth is predicted for the longer term so we are confident that this, in turn, is just the start of our own expansion.
