Stamping out bad practice in IT Training

A new kite mark accreditation has been established by industry regulator, the IITT, to bring ethical practice to the IT Training and Recruitment sector

A new kite mark accreditation has been established by industry regulator, the IITT, to bring ethical practice to the IT Training and Recruitment sector. This new accreditation for personally funded IT training courses has been set up to help combat the rise of rogue training courses being sold. The kite mark will establish criteria, which accredited companies, can use to assure potential students that they are choosing a training company of good repute.

Cerco IT Training and Recruitment is a founder member of the steering committee that has established this kite mark accreditation. Having been in the industry for over 17 years, Cerco believes strongly in providing fully accredited courses and believes that all IT training providers should be fully accountable to industry regulators such as the IITT.

Investing in a life changing IT Training course is often a big commitment and many courses make promises they cannot deliver. Before even being accepted on Cercoís Fast Track training course, all potential students must pass an online test and take part in a face to face interview with an advisor at an open day to see if they are suitable to for a career in IT support. This stringent selection process enables Cerco only to take students on to the initial four-week Fast Track course once they are absolutely sure that a career in IT is right for them.

Steven Emden, Managing Director of Cerco comments:

ìWe are a company committed to ethical business practices and have a rigorous selection process. We are simply not just in the business of selling computer courses but strive to match people with the right skill set and then help them find work.

ìOur courses provide those with little or no previous IT experience a way into the growing and lucrative world of IT support. With demand for staff outstripping supply it is crucial that the industry is self-regulating. We are proud to be founder members of the IITT kite mark logo and this new accreditation is the way forward for reputable companies like ourselves to provide professional and relevant training courses. More importantly, the logo gives potential students confidence when choosing to invest in their futures with an IT training company.î
