Security Risk Management Ltd (SRM), a UK provider of operational risk management services, has been the first company to be fully accredited to the new NQA3000 standard, an all-industry security standard directly related to employment screening.
The new NQA3000 standard extends the screening criteria of the BS7858 - which already includes Address Verification, Credit Check, 5-year Employment Verification, Criminal Record Check and Personal References - and also offers the option of an further check to screen for any current or past links to terrorism. As such, the NQA3000 standard can give employers more security and trust in their employees.
Staffvetting.com, a part of the SRM group, achieved the NQA3000 accreditation through its successful implementation of the BS7858:2006 standard for personnel vetting. By implementing BS 7858:2006 alongside NQA3000, SRM's clients will not only be adhering to industry best-practice processes, but will also be meeting key corporate governance and regulatory compliance requirements.
In today's increasingly regulated environment, demonstrating corporate compliance whilst simultaneously reducing operational risk is a difficult but important goal to achieve. This new accreditation service provides all of the evidence needed - for customers, stakeholders, and auditors - that best practice has been duly applied, says Stephen Brown, Managing Director, Security Risk Management Ltd. Any credible business needs to take responsibility not only for the staff and managers that it hires, but also for the partners and suppliers that it chooses.
The NQA3000 scheme is expected to be popular with the growing number of businesses that need to prove compliance with new international standards of operational risk and employee vetting practises. In the future, more and more businesses will have to make sure that their employees are fulfilling the latest security standards, such as NQA3000, since personnel screening standards are now more important than ever.
