Skyline Is A Winner For The London Excellence Awards 2005

he Sheraton Skyline was yesterday announced as the winner of the prestigious London Excellence Award for Organisational Learning and is recognised as one of Londonís leading employers. The Sheraton Skyline was praised for its strong recruitment and induction programme as well as its very impressive staff retention figures.

The London Excellence Awards celebrate the success of organisations driving growth and improved performance by delivering quality and excellence in all areas of business.

General Manager, Flavio Bucciarelli says, ìI am thrilled by the fact that the Sheraton Skyline has won this unique distinction through fierce competition with other very strong organisations! The London Excellence Awards distinguished the Sheraton Skyline from all competitors for offering the best Organisational Learning. Among its key strengths that led to this distinction are: the use of rigorous and effective processes in training and development and a culture of encouraging and empowering staff to innovate.

Training manager Grace Gray says, ìThe hotel has been implementing improvements since its inception. Achievements have included major renovations, increased partnerships and synergies with other businesses, as well as increased environmental awareness. To date it is proudest of achieving Investors In People awards for the 4th consecutive time and recently awarded the Leadership and Management Award from its employees loyalty and diversity of its workforce.î

The Sheraton Skyline caters for business and leisure travellers alike. It offers 350 of the largest bedrooms in the airport area which feature Sheraton Sweet Sleeper Beds, designed to give a perfect nightís sleep. The hotel also boasts an exotic poolside area, the distinctive Sky Bar, as well as restaurants and cafes. A fully equipped business centre, with 18 meeting rooms for up to 500 people and state of the art equipment and communications facilities, caters for all types of meetings and events. The busy hotel is run by 170 employees offering the highest levels of service to all visitors and guests.
