SHL raises bar with launch of new management and graduate test

SHL, provider of psychometric assessment, today announces the launch of its newest ability test

SHL, provider of psychometric assessment, today announces the launch of its newest ability test - Management and Graduate Item Bank 6 (MGIB6). Featuring 100 per cent new content, this is the second new battery of management and graduate ability test launched by SHL this year dramatically altering the accepted timeframes for test development within the industry.

MGIB6 complements SHL’s existing series of management and ability tests which now comprises six comparable batteries of verbal and numerical reasoning tests suitable for graduate and managerial level candidates. This latest version further helps to overcome the risk of practice effect - seeing the same test twice - which can occur when graduates apply to a large number of organisations.

The latest MGIB test offers great cost savings by reducing the time needed to take the test. Using Item Response Theory, -- SHL can develop more efficient tests without impacting the reliability or validity of the assessment. The paper and pencil verbal reasoning test has a time limit of 18 minutes, whilst the numerical reasoning assessment takes 20 minutes to complete.

The new product also provides HR professionals with added quality assurance because it is supported by more data than ever before. SHL’s MGIB portfolio combines flexibility - by offering employers a choice of alternate MGIB tests - with the assurance of robust benchmarking. The MGIB series therefore offers complete confidence in a market where many bespoke ability tests lack the proven validity that comes with the wealth of research supporting MGIB.

Kevin Kerrigan, UK managing director for SHL commented: The launch of MGIB6 is testament to the wealth of research and knowledge contained within our organisation - MGIB6 is the second ability test we have launched this year. SHL is the only company with the data and the enhanced development capability to rapidly produce valid assessments to offer employers both flexibility and quality assurance, and ultimately ensure that talented people are recruited and developed within businesses.
