As part of its Active Kids Campaign, Sainsburyís has joined forces with jobwithballs.com to help encourage school leavers and young people to consider a career in sport.

The purpose behind the partnership is to help promote a healthy lifestyle and to highlight the fact that you donít have to be David Beckham to get a job in sport. With this in mind, Sainsburyís has teamed up with jobswithballs.com, the UKís only sports focused job search and careers resource, to provide online advice in the Teens Section of their Active Kids Campaign.

The partnership helps to illustrate Sainsburyís commitment to promoting an active healthy lifestyle to parents, teachers and pupils through the Active Kids Campaign which was launched in 2005. The aim is to illustrate that there are countless job opportunities for school leavers, whatever their skills. There are currently over 621,000 employees working in 40,000 businesses and organizations in the UKís sport and leisure sector. In addition to pursuing careers as sports coaches and fitness instructors, school leavers can find employment in catering, IT, retail, pr, sales, management and accountancy within the multi-billion pound sport & leisure industry.

The partnership with jobswithballs.com seems especially appropriate in the light of the ever-increasing number of graduates and school leavers using the internet to search and apply for jobs online. It is estimated that 7.5 million people are currently using job sites to find work and this figure is likely to increase to over 10.3 million by the end of this year.

ìWe are delighted that Sainsburyís has decided to team up with usî said Sue Mappin co-founder of jobswithballs.com and a former Wimbledon semi-finalist. ìSchool leavers can register their CVs free of charge and receive immediate alerts as soon as a vacancy becomes available that matches the information they have supplied. They can also access free careers guidance with tips on how to produce a CV and how to prepare for an interview. They can also catch up with sports news, check out events listings and access interviews with those already working in the sectorî.
