s1jobs is no.1 in Scotland according to NORAS

Recruitment site leaves rivals trailing

The results of the National Online Recruitment Audience Survey (Winter 2006) are published today and show s1jobs to have considerably extended its lead in Scotland. The siteís Scottish audience is now almost three times that of its nearest rival.

According to NORAS s1jobs attracts 204,364 Scottish-based job seekers per month. The next best performing Scottish site, ScotCareers, attracts just 70,355 Scottish users. jobs.scotsman.com attracts 29,525 job seekers from Scotland, representing just 15% of the s1jobs figure.

Of the national sites, the UK leader Fish4jobs attracts 49,224 Scottish users.

Mark Smith, s1 Managing Director said: ìWeíre obviously delighted with the results. This confirms what our clients already know; that if youíre recruiting in Scotland then no other online media comes even close to matching the effectiveness of s1jobs. Scottish job seekers are clearly voting with their feet. But when you consider that access to recruitment sites is completely free ñ and as easy as clicking a mouse ñ to be so far ahead is remarkable.î

The NORAS survey is the biggest of its kind in the UK, with more than 18,000 users of online recruitment sites being questioned about their job seeking habits during November 2005. Each participating siteís audience figures are fully audited by ABC Electronic to ensure accuracy and consistency.

Smith continued: ìSince the NORAS sampling took place weíve seen further massive increases in site traffic. Applying the ABCE counting methodology, our monthly user figure is now up at around 270,000 ñ 32% higher than where it was when the NORAS survey was undertaken. And on the client side we continue to make impressive progress, with the likes of Tesco, 02, Dell, Hilton and HSBC now on board.
ìDespite all that, we canít be complacent. We have to keep on delivering the goods for our clients and weíll continue to invest heavily, in technology and in the brand, to ensure that happens.î
