Recruitment sector employees 'receive biggest pay rises'

The job being done by those working in the recruitment or even online recruitment sector is being valued more than ever as they have experienced the biggest salary increase of all human resources (HR) specialists, it has been suggested.

The annual Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) and Croner Reward pay survey reveals that employees with senior level recruitment jobs were paid 11 per cent more than others at that level, onrec.com reports.

Of other HR professionals, those in the manufacturing sector have also seen the most positive pay increases with salaries 3.5 per cent above the all sector average of 30,720.

Charles Cotton, reward advisor at the CIPD, said that employers are looking to recruit individuals at all levels with the right skills, knowledge and attitudes.

ClickAJob Marketing Manager Anders Jensen agrees, noting that as recession bites deeper, employers are demanding more bang for their buck.

With greater experience of the human uncertainty factor, HR veterans can satisfy higher and higher expectations for their services, he says.

At the same time, bottom line pressures are forcing employers to choose staff who fit their organisations better and perform more efficiently - exactly the kind of people that top-drawer HR professionals have better reflexes at finding.

At the end of last month it was reported that, in general, HR employees were still receiving bonuses, many of them higher than those in 2007.
