Struggling to find quality talent could soon be a problem of the past for recruiters

Struggling to find quality talent could soon be a problem of the past for recruiters, who are set to review how to extend their client marketing skills to attract great candidates at a series of breakfast seminars to be held across Australia this month.

The Recruitment and Consulting Services Associationís (RCSA) breakfast program, Candidates: the new clients, will be hosted by Leadership Coach, Ross Clennett MRCSA in:

Brisbane Friday 6 October
Darwin Tuesday 10 October
Canberra Thursday 12 October
Sydney Friday 13 October
Adelaide Tuesday 17 October
Perth Thursday 19 October

ìSuccessful recruiters of the future will be the ones who can attract quality people and keep them coming, regardless of whether they are in blue collar, white collar or executive recruitment,î Mr Clennett said.

ìIn a market where ëI canít find any good candidatesí is a constant complaint, there is now a new reality- candidates are the new clients,î

ìRecruiters need to maximise the skills they use to market themselves to clients and think more about the servicing of candidates by building similar relationships,î he said.

The breakfasts are set to cover:

Current candidate reality and future trends
What competitors in the industry are doing
What works and what doesnít work for quality candidate attraction
Next steps to take

Supported by CareerOne.com.au and the Bank of Queensland Candidates: the new clients, is the breakfast introduction to an intensive workshop, Leading Recruitment Teams, to be held in the second half of the day.

ìLeading Recruitment Teams will be highly valuable for team leaders and general managers who aspire to increase the effectiveness of their teams,î Mr Clennett said.

The half-day intensive program is for recruitment leaders to discover how to lead more and manage less, select high potential consultants and coach them to success, and build high performing teams with reduced stress.

As part of the workshop series, Ross will also conduct a business development workshop, Building a Profitable Desk, in Melbourne on Thursday 5th October for consultants who are looking for the tools and techniques to achieve great results quickly.

Ross Clennett started his career in recruitment in London, working for Accountancy Personnel before working in various states throughout Australia. He was a member of the Executive Management Committee of Recruitment Solutions for 15 years where he recruited, trained and coached a number of Recruitment Solutionsí most successful consultants.

He has worked for a number of the industryís leading figures, including Greg Savage MRCSA (Life), Geoff Slade FRCSA (Life), and Tony Beddison AO. He currently conducts individual and group leadership programs with various clients nationally.

ìThe RCSA is fortunate to have Ross share his unique coaching experiences with recruiters and leaders in the industry,î CEO of the RCSA, Julie Mills, said.

ìThe program is already proving very popular with sell-out sessions in some Regions as RCSA Members continue to demonstrate their commitment to professionalism by participating in a range of programs to enhance their knowledge and extend their skills,î she said.
