Online recruitment company, Blue Octopus recruitment creating jobs

Online recruitment company Blue Octopus, based in Leeds West Yorkshire, has taken on a further six staff and moved to large premises – in the first eight months in business.

It is an encouraging start for a ground breaking recruitment business which is fulfilling its business objectives in record time. After launching in January, in the grip of a downturn, Blue Octopus has increased its own workforce to a total of fourteen.

The company has also moved to larger premises in Otley, to give them the space it needed to match a growing client base. Already handling significant clients predominantly in the North, Blue Octopus plans to extend its reach to cover all UK regions by April 2011.

The sales force has increased and is now in place to cover Reading down to the South and West Coast; Home Counties, and London; Birmingham and the Midlands; and naturally, Yorkshire, Humberside and the North. Charlie Underwood has recently joined as Client Delivery Manager covering the Home Counties, London and parts of the Midlands whilst Paul Webster has joined as Client Delivery Manager covering the South and West coast.

The company has also made some significant internal promotions. Angela Bradshaw moves up to Client Delivery Manager and Kelsie Walton is promoted to Client Delivery Co-ordinator. New to the Head Office are Natasha Coleman and Kelly Laurenson who join as Client Delivery Co-ordinators.

John Gill, one of the first on the new trainee sales scheme, is now a Service Proposal Co-ordinator whilst Steph Long has been promoted to Lead Client Delivery Co-ordinator.

The ground breaking tactics of not charging fees or over-inflated placement charges, usually associated with traditional ways of recruiting, has brought real recognition by the business sector, and a realisation that there is a cost effective way of getting the right staff at the right package.

Joint Founder and Director, Liam Coleman says: “We are now finding that companies are recruiting, and in some unexpected job sectors. Positions in marketing are now being sought, which is always a healthy sign for the economy, as are many senior or “luxury” slots.”

Chris Coleman. Director continued “We’re experiencing increased demand for our recruitment service and our recruitment technology so it’s been an important time to add to the team and move existing personnel into key areas so we can move onto the next phase of our plan”.

He added: “The great thing about being at this level so soon in our plan just proves that recruitment is picking up and companies really do value and trust Blue Octopus to fill all level of positions within their organisation plus we’re extremely happy to play our part in creating jobs internally for the local community as well as nationally too”
