Olive Barnett Award opens for entries

Do you work in a permanent customer-facing role in hospitality, leisure, travel or tourism? Do you believe you have the qualities to achieve great things in your career? Would you relish the opportunity to fast-track your career with a career development grant and the incredible experience of winging your way to the world famous Ecole Hoteliere de Lausanne for a week long summer programme on its Hospitality Management Summer 2007 Course?

If the answer is YES and you are under 30 by 21 May 2007, then you need to enter the Olive Barnett Award.

This is your chance to fly up the career ladder with a prize-winning package that also includes a 1000 a year grant for the next three years to assist your career development. To enter, send in your 500-word answer to the question, an up-to-date CV and an employer reference or testimonial before Friday 30th March 2007 for the chance to win the fantastic prize. Second and third prizewinners will each receive a three-year career development grant of 750 and 500 per year respectively.

The top eight candidates will be invited to a judging dinner to make a personal careers presentation to the panel followed by the final winner announcement on the evening of Monday 21 May 2007 at the impressive Langham Hotel in London, principal sponsor for this yearís competition.

The Savoy Gastronomes created the Olive Barnett Award in 1975 in recognition of Olive Barnettís dedicated contribution to excellence in training. The award is made annually to the most outstanding person under 30 in any sector of hospitality, leisure, travel and tourism, anywhere in the world and, most importantly, working in a customer-facing role.
