New basic skills testing for jobseekers

.

A new suite of tests designed to help employers check candidatesí true level of competence in skills key to the role has been launched by Qwiz.

The Qwiz Primary Skills Test assesses the crucial skills needed in administrative and clerical positions as well as in jobs in the light industrial sector.

Phil Bannister, UK Operations Manager at Qwiz, commented: ìOur new test gives recruitment consultants a clear insight into the candidateís ability to perform actual tasks/operations involved in the job including filing names and numbers, following written directions, editing and proofing, forms checking and sorting and coding.

ìJudging the suitability of candidates, especially those new to the type of work, solely by exam results or long-past achievements can lead to poor hiring decisions. The tests, which take about 5 to 10 minutes for each module, can save managers money and time.î

As the tests are available via the Internet, they can be downloaded and used at times convenient for the candidate and employer. Recruiters and HR mangers will be able to compare the results of their candidates with those globally on the Qwiz database.
