Two major new reports have confirmed that training remains a priority for managers, despite the recession. A survey published earlier this week of nearly 1,000 business leaders, by the Institute of Directors (IoD), shows that, despite the recession, training has been maintained or even increased in eight out of ten organisations over the last six months, with nearly nine out of ten directors saying that their business planned at least to maintain investment in training over the next six months.
Also, last week the CBI reported that employers are continuing to invest in training, while exploring more tailored and innovative ways of ensuring employee development and learning.
Employment Trends 2009, Work Patterns in the Recession, published by the CBI and recruitment experts, Harvey Nash, reveals two-thirds (66%) of firms are targeting their training more effectively.
E-learning – a flexible solution to training – was developed successfully by Workplace Law Training for the NEBOSH National General Certificate early last year and now Workplace Law Training is to launch a new e-learning course for the IOSH Managing Safely certificate*.
IOSH Managing Safely – accredited by the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health – is the UKís most popular health and safety course for managers, studied by around 33,000 people every year. Workplace Law Training has been helping students gain this widely-respected certificate since 2003, with excellent pass rates (98% average) and great student feedback.
IOSH Managing Safely by e-learning is an exciting, interactive study experience, written and produced by Workplace Lawís own studio, with exclusive learning materials and student workbooks especially designed to meet the IOSH course syllabus.
Students can study online, wherever and whenever they want, for maximum flexibility. Employers can easily roll the course out to their staff, and the course tracking feature allows managers to follow the performance of students and check on their progress.
Workplace Law will be running a free webinar next week on Tuesday 7 July 2009 at two p.m., offering a sneak preview of the brand new e-learning course, as well as information about how it can be incorporated into an organisationís training programme as cost-effectively as possible.
