Keys to job board success

Whatjobsite has published results of an informal survey of job boarders on the keys to successful job board advertising for employers

Whatjobsite has published results of an informal survey of job boarders on the keys to successful job board advertising for employers.

In these recessionary times many employers are choosing to recruit for themselves and many are choosing to use job boards to recruit, says Karl Schweppe, MD of whatjobsite.com. As simple and straightforward as job boards are, however, too many employers are still failing to use job boards effectively. Our survey of job boarders aims to highlight the typical things that employers get wrong.

Whatjobsite surveyed 43 UK job boards to find out what they viewed as important for employers to get right in their job ads. Clear job titles, good ad copy, specific locations on job ads, an easy application process and including a salary were amongst the elements that job boarders felt were very important for employers to get right. While veterans of online recruitment will find many of these things obvious, feedback from job boarders suggests that too many employers still fail to get these most simple things right. Karl Schweppe, MD of whatjobsite comments,

There has never been a better time to use job boards to recruit. But there has also never been a time to better use job boards. We hope this advice from UK job boards will help employers get their job board advertising right. If we can help more employers to advertise more effectively on job boards, online recruitment will become more productive for both employers and candidates.
