Insider Growth 100 recruitment firm invests in comprehensive technology suite to support ambitious growth plans

After five years of strong growth, Huddersfield-based Major Recruitment Ltd has signed a significant technology investment with The Access Group

Building on a 20+year relationship with the software provider, Major Recruitment is implementing a comprehensive suite of recruitment technology, including Access Recruitment CRM, Access Screening and Access Pay and Bill, to give them a flexible, browser-based solution underpinning their business operations from “candidate to cash”.

Major Recruitment has seen tremendous success in recent years, recently listed in Insider Magazine’s Growth 100 list for 2020 and in Ward Hadaway’s 2021 Yorkshire Fastest 50 list. Despite the impact of Covid-19 across many sectors, Major Recruitment continues to grow and during the pandemic the business has focused on sectors that have experienced increased demand for permanent and temporary staff, including ecommerce, healthcare, food, logistics, pharma and life sciences.

With ambitious growth plans that include restructuring the business into an equity partner model, the business has already welcomed more than 40 equity partners into the program and expects to see that number growing to over 100. Each partner has diverse needs and this investment will be invaluable in streamlining support and providing partners with simple, integrated recruitment technology solutions.

Major Recruitment’s Director Phil Bottomley comments ‘Access is a forward-thinking technology partner that really understands the recruitment sector. We scrutinised the market when considering technology to support our growth plans and we found that no supplier offered as comprehensive a breadth of solutions as Access.

When we engage with a new equity partner, it’s really important that we provide them with the tools and support they need to succeed under the Major Recruitment brand. Being able to offer this level of technology spanning CRM, automated worker compliance and pay and bill for those firms is a fantastic benefit. We expect to see our use of the software continue to grow.’

Major Recruitment has used Profile, an acquired Access Recruitment CRM, since 2001. At that time, they started with 15 users and have since grown to around 200 users. Access has continued to invest in developing their software dedicated to the recruitment sector and now offers the industry’s most comprehensive fully hosted and secure suite of software solutions. This investment will see Major Recruitment migrate to Access’ fully hosted, browser-based Recruitment CRM, as well as introducing Screening and Pay and Bill to offer greater efficiencies through integrated solutions.

Colin Whipp, Sales Director, Access Recruitment, adds ‘It has been an absolute privilege to have worked with Major Recruitment for all this time; I remember when they came on board with us in 2001. The growth of the business has been amazing, they have completed several migrations with us during this time to ensure that they continue to improve, enhance, and prepare the business for further growth.

Phil and his team are committed to leveraging best in class technology to engage both their internal users and their clients. The relationship our two companies share is extremely strong and with this investment, is set for the future.’
