Human Capital Institute and MonsterTrak Present A New Series of Webcasts on College Recruiting

.

The Human Capital Institute (HCI), a global professional association and educator in talent management strategies, announced today that it will present a new series of complimentary webcasts called, Recruiting in Todayís Colleges. The series has been developed in cooperation with MonsterTRAK, a college-targeted career site, which also underwrites HCIís College Recruiting Learning Track.

Reaching college students has always been an important component of employment recruiting, but today it is even more critical that organizations know how to tap into this candidate pool. The Google Generation (Generation Y) is the largest demographic population in the United States since the Baby Boomers, and those who arenít already in college will be soon. There is enormous potential for recruiters who can connect with these future members of the workforce.

Nevertheless, recruiting this generation is not like recruiting past generations. Todayís college students blog, use IM, and listen to presentations on MP3 players. Because it is essential to reach college students on their terms, recruitment professionals must become new media savvy.

Traditional methods of recruiting donít resonate with 21st century college students, said Allan Schweyer, HCIís Executive Director. You must meet students on their turf, and their turf is the latest technology.

The new series kicks off with Getting to College Students Using the Web Tools They Live and Love, on Wednesday, February 15, 2006, from 12:00PM to 1:30PM EST. MonsterTRAK, a college-targeted career site, underwrites the session and the series.

The February 15th webcast features new media experts who will explain how to reach college students and form meaningful relationships with them using the latest technology. Future webcasts in the series focus on best practices case studies.

Human Capital Institute webcasts are powered by iLinc, and are free to all HCI members and registered guests. Participants are eligible to receive re-certification credits from HRCI for each webcast. Those who complete the course by attending all four sessions will gain re-certification credits toward HCIís Human Capital Strategist designation.
