Hays smashes first year charity fundraising target

Hays, the worldís leading recruiting experts in qualified, professional and skilled people, has raised a grand total of £120,000 in the first year of its corporate charity partnership with Action for Children, one of the UK's largest children's charities

Hays, the world’s leading recruiting experts in qualified, professional and skilled people, has raised a grand total of £120,000 in the first year of its corporate charity partnership with Action for Children, one of the UK's largest children's charities. The money raised will be used in various ways, which could include the provision of one-to-one youth counselling, hydrotherapy lessons for disabled children and reading lessons.

Hays’ recruiting experts have been involved in a wide variety of fundraising initiatives, from a youth employability scheme to Cash for Care days, where consultants pay to dress casually, to quiz nights, raffles and cake sales. Staff also recently took part in Beat the Moon, a physically gruelling challenge, which raised over £50,000.

Tim Cook, Managing Director at Hays UK & Ireland, comments: “Our employees have shown tremendous dedication to fundraising for Action for Children over the past year and we have received fantastic support from the family and friends of staff members. We are proud to have worked closely with such a worthy cause and to have raised such a substantial amount. We hope to raise even more over the coming year”

Joseph Howes, Corporate Fundraising Manager at Action for Children, said: “The commitment of Hays staff has been really impressive. The valuable funds will help Action for Children continue working to break cycles of neglect. We aim to raise £17 million over the next three years to tackle the growing problem of neglect in the UK, which studies show affects up to 10% of children - or nearly 1.5 million children.”
