Online recruitment consultants Enhance Media have launched the Great British e-test, www.howeru.com, to find out what the UKís 29 million internet users are doing online.
Users will be tested on internet activities ranging from using search engines and email, to joining social networking sites and using webcams and subscribing to RSS feeds. e-scores are calculated using a weighted scale based on the activities completed online.
They can find out:
- their e-score (out of 100)
- which e-group they are a member of
- the websites that web users like them value most
- the websites they might be interested in visiting next
Tim Elkington, managing director of Enhance Media, said: ìHow e are you? is free and itís a bit of fun. So many of us use the internet every day but how do we compare with our friends and colleagues and with the rest of the UK? It will be interesting to know how e we are as individuals and as a nation, and watch how our internet use develops over the years.
How e are you? will be able to answer questions, such as:
- What are the most, and least, popular online activities?
- How does internet use vary through the age groups?
- Are there geographical e-hot-spots?
- What are the UKís favourites websites?
Tim said: ìIt will be intriguing to see the results. We all probably think we use the internet pretty well. But itís a fast-moving medium and thereís always going to be someone whoís found something you donít know about, but that you could benefit from.î
Participants will also have a chance to win 500 worth of Amazon vouchers and a donation will go to the charity Childnet International for every e-test completed.
