Davis Xchangeteam set to open its freelance arm

Launch of new freelance service

Davis Xchangeteam, the specialist marketing, media and digital people resourcing company, has launched its freelance service. The move follows an acquisition in August 2005 when The Davis Company became part of Xchangeteam Group.

Xchangeteamís expertise lies in the freelance marketplace ñ in 2005, the company was named Best Temporary Recruitment Agency by Recruiter magazine. The acquisition of The Davis Company was designed to strengthen both partiesí offering to clients, freelance consultants and permanent candidates. It was the second acquisition by Xchangeteam last year; Xchangeteam acquired design, advertising and creative people resourcing specialists, BDG, in March 2005, now known as BDG Xchangeteam.

Combined, Xchangeteam Group is now in a stronger position to cross-sell its freelance, permanent and freelance-to-permanent roles. Today, 74% of freelance briefs that Xchangeteam receives are successfully placed and 68% of freelance consultants put forward for interview are offered the assignment. As the voice of the freelancer, Xchangeteam boasts a portfolio of best practice awards and supports its freelance community with reward schemes, networking events and has online administration systems all designed to save on freelancersí time. For clients, agents have solid industry knowledge so understand their clientsí business and resourcing needs and are quick to find their clients the best person to fill the position.

The Davis Company operated for 20 years offering primarily permanent recruitment expertise. Over the last six months, founder and director Malcolm Farquharson has been working closely with Xchangeteamís CEO and founder Emma Brierley and her staff to tailor a freelance offering for Davis Xchangeteam. A recent survey carried out by Xchangeteam and Leeds Business School suggested that there is a quiet revolution steadily transforming the way that Britain works, as more and more people are opting for alternative methods of working. And, with 40% of freelancers being hired into managerial roles and a further 20% at director level it is clear that clients are recognising the wealth of talent that is on tap to them as they need it.

Said Malcolm Farquharson: ìOur business is very well suited to the freelance model. As an increasing number of people in the marketing, media and digital industry are opting to become freelance consultants we are very pleased to be able to add a freelance service to our portfolio. Clients are waking up to the benefits that freelance talent can bring to their businesses and we are very excited that we can now satisfy all their resourcing needs ñ both freelance and permanent. By joining forces with Xchangeteam we are all now in a stronger position to offer more opportunities for everyone.î
