Convergys Corporation, the global leader in integrated billing, employee care, and customer care services, and the largest, outsourced contact center services provider in the world, announced today it will open its eighth integrated contact center in India in Gurgaon, a suburb of New Delhi. Convergys is adding this newest contact center because continued growth in the market for outsourced customer care services in India from new and existing clients in the UK and US in communications and other vertical markets.
Convergys has leased the fourth floor of the Agora Building, one of the premier commercial properties under development in Gurgaon. Hiring is currently underway for operations staff as well as human resources, information technology, facility management, and training personnel. This will be Convergys' fourth contact center in Gurgaon and its eighth in India. Existing state-of-the-art facilities in Gurgaon are located in the Atria, Unitech, and Orchid business centers, and employ over 6,000 service consultants. Convergys has other facilities in Bangalore, Hyderabad, Pune, and Mumbai.

The new Gurgaon contact center is being designed to support a superior customer experience for Convergys clients. The facility will encompass the contact center, administration, recruitment and training rooms, advanced language laboratory, employee transportation center, etc. The Convergys facility will be outfitted to international standards with ergonomically designed furniture for contact center work, state-of-art generators, and backup contingency systems.
The new contact center in Gurgaon will be closely integrated into Convergys' Global Assurance Network. This gives Convergys control of its end-to-end operations and processes, just as the company has in North America, Europe, and the Philippines, and assures 100 percent redundancy and flexibility for our clients.
With this capability, Convergys can process any type of customer contact using our trained professionals in one of our contact centers anywhere in the world, said Streit.
