Malcolm Farquharson, Chief Executive of Davis Xchangeteam today announced his retirement after 24 years in the recruitment industry. His decision comes a year after the Davis Company was acquired by Xchangeteam Group. Over the last year, Farquharson has worked closely with Xchangeteamís founder and CEO Emma Brierley to lay the foundations for a seamless transition for the business and its employees, clients and candidates in the run up to his retirement.
Farquharsonís Davis Company built up a strong brand in marketing, media and digital recruitment since its foundation in 1982 and today, it is part of one of the most successful people resourcing companies in marketing, media and creative services in the UK. Xchangeteam recently won the 2006 London Excellence Award for Customer Focus.
Farquharsonís retirement is the final piece of the jigsaw to complete the total integration of the Davis Company into Xchangeteam Group. Over the next six months, Davis Xchangeteam will be dropping its Davis identity to be known as Xchangeteam by January 2007.
Said Emma Brierley: ìOver the last year, Malcolm and I have worked closely together to ensure that our collaboration would work for all aspects of the business and the people involved. Our goal has been met and we have worked hard to become a market leader in freelance and permanent resourcing across marketing and creative services. Malcolm has been a pleasure to work with and I wish him a long and happy retirement.î
Added Malcolm Farquharson: ìI am retiring in the knowledge that I am leaving the company, its people, my clients and candidates in the very safe hands of Emma Brierley and her team. I decided a year ago that collaborating with Xchangeteam would be the best move for the business I founded and I wish all the team well. I have had one of the best jobs over the last 20 years and met a lot of talented people but Iím ready to commence the next phase of my life.î
