Californias share of new high-tech jobs increases

Up slightly in March to 24.4 percent

California’s share of new high-tech jobs increased slightly in March to 24.4 percent, up from 24.2 percent in February. This is the third straight month that California has led the nation in the number of new IT jobs created, following a downward trend in December and January, according to the monthly IT job trends report provided by Silicon Valley firm NimbleCat.

Texas also continues to be an IT jobs leader, its share of new high-tech positions rising slightly to 6% in March from 5.8% in February, making it the third-ranked state overall. Although Washington, DC continues to hold the second-ranked spot, its share of new IT jobs declined slightly to 6.1%, down from 6.4% in February. The full report can be downloaded here.
