In the upcoming issue of Ethical Corporation, the world’s leading global business magazine on corporate responsibility, Richard Baker will tell editor Tobias Webb how he jumped at the chance to move from being ASDA’s COO to become chief executive of Boots. In no small part, his decision was based on the company’s mission to society.
Elsewhere in the September issue, the main feature will be an examination of one of the thorniest issues in corporate ethics: the business case for corporate responsibility. Writers Lisa Roner and Ben Schiller have been interviewing some of the world’s leading commentators and reviewing the latest literature - their findings may surprise.
There will also be a special report on the development of the ISO 26000 social responsibility standard, analysis of Ferrovial’s ethics in light of its acquisition of BAA, examination of changing workplace standards in China and analysis of key trends in the ethics of IT hardware recycling.
As well as hearing from Richard Baker, there will be an interview this month with Elisabeth Dahlin from the Swedish Partnership for Global Responsibility on Sweden’s attitude to making business more responsible.
