Beyond.com, Inc. Reports Accounting & Finance Jobs on the Rise

Jobs Also Remain Strong in IT, Healthcare and Sales

Beyond.com, Inc., the largest niche career network for business professionals, released its Second Quarter 2007 Career Trends Analysis and Industry Outlook Reports. The reports indicated that Information Technology remains as the top industry for online job postings, representing 14.91% of all jobs posted in second quarter 2007 across the Beyond.com Network of more than 15,000 career sites. Healthcare & Medical (13.58%) and Sales & Sales Management (11.13%) rounded out the top three positions.

Although the Accounting & Finance sector occupied the fourth position with 9.88%, this sector recognized the largest percentage gain in job postings over the previous quarter with 2.46%, with the most jobs representative of the New York-Northern New Jersey-Long Island and Los Angeles-Riverside-Orange County metropolitan regions. Over 57.86% of candidates within this industry sector have 5 or more years of work experience with more than 38% representing 10 or more years of experience. The strongest candidate pool was reported in the New York-Northern New Jersey-Long Island and Chicago-Gary-Kenosha regions.

ìWith the increasing concern over the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, organizations are paying close attention to corporate accounting practices and principals which has increased demand for skilled accountants, financial analysts auditors and compliance expertsî, says Rich Milgram, CEO of Beyond.com, Inc. ìAs this talent pool tightens, companies will look to niche financial websites to target these candidates and consider increasing corporate incentives such as offering attractive relocation packages and providing educational assistance programs to elevate the skill set of their existing resources to fill available positions.î
