Accountancyjobslondon.co.uk backs Lights Out London

Lights Out London aims to prove that we can all make a difference to the future of our planet

Lights Out London aims to prove that we can all make a difference to the future of our planet. We are backing Capital FMís campaign inviting the whole of London to turn off all lights and non-essential appliances between 9 and 10pm on Thursday 21st June

What we can do
A recent press release told of Google and Intel's Climate Savers Computing Initiative, which aims to dramatically reduce the power consumption of technology by setting a new computer technology efficiency target of 90 percent.

If achieved, that increased efficiency will reduce greenhouse gas emissions by as much as 54 million tons per year - the equivalent of taking 11 million cars off the roads or shutting down 20 500-megawatt coal-fired power plants. It will also save 2.25 billion in energy costs each year.

With this in mind, accountancyjobslondon.co.uk will be taking its website off the worldwide web (shutting down our business) between 9 and 10pm on Thursday 21st June leaving a single holding page with no active links, effectively stopping all web traffic that would otherwise come via our pages.

What you can do
Getting involved couldn't be simpler. Register now to show your support, then all you have to do is remember to turn off all your lights and non-essential appliances on Midsummer's Night. Remember to tell all your friends though - the more people that take part, the bigger difference we can make.
