Petition against the Bill that could kill the recruitment industry

Jobshout has launched an online petition against the Agency Worker Bill 2008

Jobshout has launched an online petition against the Agency Worker Bill 2008. Nathan Mayatt MD of Jobshout said îhaving worked in the recruitment industry for over 11 years I was outraged when I read the Agency Workers Bill 2008, which is going before House of Commons on Friday 22 February 2008. I looked for a petition against the Agency Worker Bill 2008 and found nothing so we decided to create one and get involved.î

îIt is quite amazing that the Unions seems so well organised but the opposition not so. The Agency Workers Bill is too simplistic, not properly thought through and is based upon assumptions that are just not true. The impact to the recruitment industry, business and the vast majority of temporary staff could be devastating if this Bill was to get through, as it gives temporary staff (potentially both Payee and Ltd Company contractors) equal rights as permanent staff including full sick and holiday pay - itís just not sustainable.î stated Nathan Mayatt. îIf this Bill and the Unions want to tackle the exploitation in the workplace we would be right behind them, but what the Unions really want through the Agency Workers Bill is power and influence.ì

If you would like to sign up to the petition to be sent to Members of Parliament, which is against The Agency Workers Bill on the grounds that it will have a negative impact on job hunters, business, recruitment industry and the economy as a whole, and does not deal with core issue of exploitation of people in the workplace then go to the Jobshout website
