New Division For Thorpe Molloy Recruitment

Skill shortages in the accountancy, finance and legal professions in the north east of Scotland, particularly at executive level are to be addressed by the creation of a new legal and banking division at Thorpe Molloy Recruitment

Skill shortages in the accountancy, finance and legal professions in the north east of Scotland, particularly at executive level are to be addressed by the creation of a new legal and banking division at Thorpe Molloy Recruitment. Qualified solicitor Alan Clark has been appointed to head up the specialist division. The new division aims to target declining numbers of qualified and experienced legal and financial staff in the north east through the recruitment of talented professionals. Alan brings a wealth of expertise in legal practice to the 25-strong team. The latest Labour Market Report from the Bank of Scotland highlights the demands for professional staff in the sectors which the new division will specialise in and indicates that demand for qualified, experienced staff is on the increase.

Director of Thorpe Molloy, Karen Molloy, comments, ì2008 brings with it an exciting time of growth for Thorpe Molloy with the development of our new legal and banking division and expansion of our services in executive-level recruitment too. As a north east based agency, we recognise the need to meet the demands of our clients and to help them overcome the issues they face due to skill shortages in the legal and financial sectors. The newly established specialist team with experience in these professions will aid us in successfully placing candidates and addressing these pressing skills shortage issues.

ìAlanís knowledge of the legal profession will assist Thorpe Molloy in serving the needs of these professional sectors and match qualified candidates to our clientsí positions. He has worked in our clientsí environments and brings a depth of understanding to their needs.î

Alan Clark studied Law at Aberdeen University and qualified as a solicitor in 2006. He brings to Thorpe Molloy valuable first hand experience from a well respected local legal firm where he undertook his traineeship. Alan will be responsible for recruiting high calibre candidates to fill vacancies in the legal and banking fields.

He says, ìMy background in the legal profession has given me great grounding for a career in legal and banking recruitment as I know exactly what skills to look for when recruiting candidates for clients. Not only will I be recruiting, but I will be also helping to develop the skills of legal and banking professionals through professional development events Thorpe Molloy will be organising during the course of the year. I feel recruitment is much more than filling a position, itís about finding and developing the right people throughout their careers.î

Karen adds, ìThe development of the new division is a strategic move in our long-term plans for company expansion. Our year end turnover was in excess of 6.4 million as a result of our commitment to providing a high quality recruitment service to both candidates and employers. We are continually implementing improved ways of working to take our clients forward, which in turn will enable our businesses to grow together.î
